Tearing and Weaving

Paper tearing is fun. Learn to tear in a direction. Tear with one hand towards you and the other away from you. Tips on tearing include marking the back with pencil and following that line. Practice makes perfect. Tear, tear & tear!

Supplies Used & Available at our store include:

1. Postcard papers.
2. Tan cardstock, beige cardstock.
3. Raffia
4. 1/4 inch hole punch or rectangle punch
5. "Memories" book brass embellishments
6. Text weight papers for inside book stock
7. Liquid Pearl Gold tone

Basic Instructions:

1. Fold 12x12 tan cardstock in half. Should measure 6 x12. Trim off 3 inches (length) so finished fold should be 9 inch (height) x 6 inch (width). 2. Tear postcard paper to 10 inch x 9 inch (height). Adhere using hermafix glue. Fold in half to measure 5 inch x 9 inch (height). Adhere to outside of tan folded cover cardstock.
3. Fold the 8 1/2 x 11 inch text weight paper in half to measure 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. (Use as many pages as desired.) Place in center of cover of book.
4. Punch holes using hole punch evenly spaced approx 1 inch apart up the spine of book.
5. Weave raffia to hold pages in place. Tie at top. Tuck ends inside of cover.
6. Use "Liquid Pearl" in gold color to squiggle across top of book. Let dry.
7. Use "3d mounting squares to adhere the "brass memory book."
